Will Talk to Transport Ministry In Toll Barriers Row
With country wide strike by the transporter looming large from October 1 due to indefinite Chakka Jam by the transporters demanding removal of the toll barriers, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured a delegation of the All India Motor Transport Congress to look into the matter
Singh told delegation members that met him at his residence here on Sunday that he will talk to the Transport ministry and will sought to know their views on the demand to remove the toll barriers.
However, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari had refused to abolish the toll barriers saying that government needs fund for good roads and people will have to pay for its usage.
Akhil Bharatiya Parivhan Vikas Trust president Jagdish Gupta, who led the delegation said that the main demand of the transporters are to abolish the toll barriers and the anomalies in the TDS system faced by the transport companies
The delegation members include UP trader union leader Surendra Agarwal, Lucknow Goods Transport Association president Vijay Chabra, UP Bus Operators Association general secretary Major Mujtaba Ali Khan and several others.
Meanwhile on the call of the chakka jam strike by All India Motor Transport Congress from October 1, the Lucknow Goods Transport Association will stop all the bookings from Monday.
