The transport technology, which is scheduled to kick start on April 15, is a crucial move in the view of modernisation of the transport system.

A team of techies is working to chalk out the process under the supervision of Transport Minister Swatantra Dev Singh.

Transport Corporation has joined hands with private company Traimax to develop this vehicle tracking system. Transport Corporation MD K Ravindra Nayak said that the tracking system will be available on the corporation’s website upsrtc.com and a mobile application will also carry it.

Passengers And Their Relatives Can Locate The Bus

The service will enable people to avail it from home and save the time that they have to spend at bus stands. After inserting the bus number in the search option tool in the site or app, travelers can find the exact location of their Bus.

Tracking System Will Be Linked With VTS

The tracking system is already available in the buses but the details like speed and location of a bus were available only at ‘control command central’ and not for general people.

Now, the technology will be modified and linked with a mobile application. Through Global Positioning System (GPS) and other technologies, the corporation keep a vigil on over-speed and location of buses.
