Govt approves Bengaluru-Mysore highway conversion project

The Union government has given its approval to the proposed conversion of the Bengaluru-Mysore road project into a six-lane national highway at an approximate cost of Rs 3,000 crore, sources said.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) agreed to fund the entire project and collect toll, while the state government would coordinate and facilitate land acquisition, the Karnataka Minister for Public Works, Mr H. C. Mahadevappa, said.

The 123 kilometer (km) six-lane highway project is being taken up under design, build, finance, operate, transfer (DBFOT) model and would be completed in two years, the Minister informed.
