VECV and Baidyanath LNG Partner to Revolutionize Long-Haul Transport with 500 Eicher Pro 6055 LNG Trucks

In a significant move to promote the adoption of cleaner fuels in the long-haul transport sector, VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Baidyanath LNG Private Limited to deploy 500 Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks. The agreement was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, at the launch of Baidyanath LNG’s new LNG dispensing facility in Nagpur.

The partnership aims to enhance the LNG station network in Central India, with the deployment of 500 Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks, which will support the development of the LNG station network across strategic locations in the region. This initiative is expected to expedite the overall supply-side ecosystem development, enabling the long-haul transport segment to adopt cleaner fuels.

The Eicher Pro 6055 LNG truck features Volvo Group’s globally proven engine technology, equipped with a VEGX8 6-cylinder engine that generates 260HP of power at 2200RPM and produces a torque of 1000Nm between 1100-1800RPM. The truck also offers a top-tier transmission system with high torque handling capability, ensuring long-haul efficiency and best-in-class fuel tank safety, minimizing fuel theft risks. The truck’s cabin is designed for superior comfort, featuring HVAC and an air-suspended driver seat, which enhances driver productivity.
