Uber like technology for trucks

How the concept “Uber” came into existence. Uber is a private international company.  It develops, markets and operates the mobile-app-based transportation network also called Uber. The Uber app allows consumers to submit a trip request, which is routed to crowd-sourced taxi drivers. Say you need a ride from your home to the airport, rather than call a cab and have no idea when it will arrive, you go to the Uber app and request a ride. Uber puts your request out to their network. One of their drivers, private citizens in private cars, selects your ride. At that point, the app starts to track your driver and display on a map on your phone or other mobile device. You know exactly where your ride is and when it will arrive.

Excellent blog. This area is a gold mine. There is vast untapped potential in India considering that we still don’t have a comprehensive solution in telematics. Truckers must adopt technology and driver training, ergonomic seats and communications to link trucks to owners, governance and to a central control center. There is no end to automation on the roads, to advance to standards in developed nations.
