KPT opens revenue collection centre in Gandhidham

Kandla Port Trust (KPT) has started a revenue collection centre at the AO Building, Gandhidham for the benefit of Port users, who will now be able to deposit the Port charges here in addition to Kandla.

The collection centre was inaugurated by Alok Singh, IRS, Deputy Chairman of KPT, in the presence of prominent Port users, heads of Port user associations, the Labour Trustee Mohan Aswani, Heads of Department of the Port, and senior Port officers and employees.

In his keynote address, D. N. Sondhi, KPT’s FA & CAO, stressed that Kandla Port was very proactive to the needs of its users and endeavoured to provide more and more facilities to the trade.

He said the commencement of an additional revenue collection centre, in Gandhidham, was a step in this direction, with a view to facilitate Port users as most of them were based in the city.

He requested the Port users to make maximum use of this facility for mutual advantage.

Singh stressed that this was only a small step, and the Port would be introducing more such facilitative measures in the coming days.

He added that the Port will try to develop systems such that users will be able to make payments sitting in the comfort of their offices.

Sondhi requested Port users to give their feedback on the new facility. He thanked the Chairman, Ravi Parmar, IAS, for approving the proposal.
