Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section to select southern destinations turned weak by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following large availability of trucks in the market amid restricted cargo movements.

Transporters said heavy position of trucks against tight cargo movements, mainly led to the fall in some of southern states freight rates.

Delhi to Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Puducherry freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 to Rs 55,000, Rs 57,000 and Rs 66,000, respectively.

Rates to Mysore, Kochi and Coimbatore also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 64,000, Rs 71,000 and Rs 69,000, respectively.

Following are today’s freights per 9-tonne load (in Rs): Jaipur 14,000 Hyderabad 55,000 Chandigarh 16,000 Vijayawada 57,000 Ludhiana 17,000 Bengaluru 61,000 Kanpur 19,000 Chennai 63,000 Indore 20,000 Mysore 64,000 Ahmedabad 19,000 Puducherry 66,000 Baroda 22,000 Coimbatore 69,000 Patna 24,000 Kochi 71,000 Surat 23,000 Thiruvananthapuram 81,000 Mumbai 25,000 Goa 57,000 Pune 28,000 Gwalior 12,000 Kolkata 28,000 Guwahati 60,000.
