Multimodal cargo hub at Nagpur to get fresh boost

The Multimodal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) is finally getting a lease of new life from the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Mr Devendra Fadnavis.

At least five companies, including a US-based IT company, have assured an investment in excess of $ 500 million towards setting up campuses at the site. However, there is a condition that the land parcel would be in a non-SEZ area and be allotted on outright basis.

According to an official, Mr Fadnavis assured the delegates of prompt decisions by the state government and the creation of an industry-friendly environment for companies in MIHAN.

The Chief Minister also elaborated on initiatives taken by the state government towards the ‘Make in India’ campaign. Indian IT majors such as Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Wipro Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Hexaware Technologies have already taken up land for setting up campuses.
